The first investigation of silica-polyethylenimine (PEI), a solid adsorbent for both post-combustion CO2 capture and direct air CO2 capture, at the pilot scale. By optimising silica-PEI composition, recovering silica and exploring the conversion of spent PEI to chemical feedstocks, this project will determine if solid adsorbent looping technology (SALT) can achieve lower capture costs and provide the platform for taking silica-PEI SALT to full demonstrations.
